October's Over - November Now!
Hello November! Can you believe we are a few short weeks before Zona Cero and Christmas Festival?!
The New Year is just around the corner, and many start to decide on their New Year’s resolution. In 2 Chronicles 7:14 we read, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I Will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” This verse talks about 4 very important things: If my people humble themselves; pray; if they pray; and if they abandon their wicked ways.
The best example we can find about humbleness is Philippians 2:5-11, “In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death – even death on a cross!Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Then we see in Luke 6:12 we see how He prays, “One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God.”
Psalm 42:1-2 shows how we must seek, “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?”
And to finish, if they turn from their wicked ways, “Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.” Proverbs 28:13
The result of following these instructions is, “then I Will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14
I pray these four points can be of help as you pick your New Year’s resolution. You don’t even have to wait for the New Year, you can start now!
